7 years after her first album “Vita Kalla”, Skator is finally back with an amazing new mesmerizing album: “År”.
I've been wanting to do a session with her for a while and this new album was the perfect opportunity to film her.
We met near her home in Årstaberg in the Stockholm suburb, and she set up with her two musicians in a small grocery store in her neighborhood. A very typical place in Sweden, and really original!
This new album, simply titled "År", was released this summer on the label Sing A Song Fighter, and is a kind of hymn to the seasons, orchestrated by sweet melodies tinged with fascinating vocal and musical explorations. Skator really knocks our ears off from the start of her record and continues in force until the very end. This is an album surprising for its beauty, its power and its originality that will appeal to any fan of Swedish music, because it deserves to be listened to!
