Maia, whom I filmed back in 2018, reached out to me this summer to propose to film a new session of two song from her upcoming album, due for release this coming January.
Titled "25 Days," this deeply personal album draws inspiration from her 25-day menstrual cycle, with each song exploring the emotions associated with a specific day.
For this session, she performed "I Am a Woman (Day 24)", which is about the challenges of premenstrual syndrome, and "Underwater (Day 16)" a more melancholic track about accepting one's emotions.
We were lucky to film inside the beautiful Sankta Clara Church, where Maia delivered a wonderful performance of both songs on the piano.
